Art that Tells Your Story
The reality is you don’t need more noise in you’re life, you need meaning. You are ready for real art on your wall, that tells your story and speaks to you. You want a painting that grabs you and pulls you in, a reminder of the important things in life and to lean in. The hard part is, how do you pick the right piece? How do you know if you have the right size for the space? I want to work with you to find the perfect piece for your space, that resonates with you.
I start with a rough piece of plywood.
I use the character and imperfections of the wood to start my piece. My husband trims it down to size, bevels the edges and makes a floating frame for it. I prime the canvas and use the texture as a significant part of the piece, as it symbolizes the moments we find ourselves in, with our past shaping us and not knowing what tomorrow holds. We are left in this present moment, where we choose to be present or to be anxious. I paint to help be present in the moment and aware of all that is happening around me.
I paint about mindfulness. It feels like such a cliche' thing to paint about. We hear it everywhere and yet, I'm constantly struggling with my anxious thoughts. I have to constantly quiet myself & whisper, "Be Here Now."
PAINTINGS THAT CAPTURE THE STORY WE FIND OURSELVES, REVEALING THE EVERYDAY BEAUTIES OF LIFE.
EACH LAYER DEVELOPS, SLOWLY LIKE THE CHARACTER OF WELL WORN LEATHER. EACH LAYER IS PART OF THE STORY.
